Gregory C. Benoit has provided editing services to publishers for over 25 years. Send me a manuscript, and I will work together with the author to ensure technical accuracy, grammatical precision, and clear communication to the intended audience. If more extensive editing is desired, I can help to redirect the author's efforts as needed.
I have been teaching English and writing at the college level since 1990, holding an MA in English from the University of Connecticut. I have been intimately involved with a wide variety of book publishing projects, and have worked as the editor-in-chief of a quarterly magazine with a world-wide circulation as well as the editor of a small-town weekly newspaper.
Some projects require editing for the writing of numerous authors, maintaining structural consistency and a "one-voice" feel in the work as a whole. Other projects involve editing whole books or short articles by a single author. I have worked on all manner of publications, including government defense documents, technical scientific journal articles, theological reference works, and personal biographies, just to name a few.
I ensure more than just grammatical precision, verifying accuracy of facts where needed, suggesting major and minor alterations that may seem necessary, and overall striving toward a high level of readability with the specific audience in mind.
